(ABBYY Tech Support guy in above message is wrong. By the way, you do need to use the Epson Software Updater to update ABBYY to version 8.0.1 to use it under Mountain Lion. ABBYY support was pretty useless, as I suspect they focus on paying customers. Haven't a clue why you would use this software.

You are limited to rtf, xls, and htm formats (pdf is not supported).

After some very confusing messages, closing the scan program, it finally displays the scanned page. right click on setup.exe, thats in the Abbyy Folder and left click run as administrator. In the OCR Folder, there is an Abbyy Folder. Look for the drive with the Dell disk in it. The ABBYY software starts the Epson Scan program, which you then have to mess with. Go to My Computer and double click on it. (Works over wifi.) However, I have found it to be very slow and useless. Then this mess will work, and you do not need to hook the printer up to the iMac. Download and install the scanner software from Epson.
Abbyy finereader sprint 8.0 for mac#
Abbyy Finereader - Abbyy - Finereader - Finereader For Mac - Finereader Express. You have probably already done this or moved on, but. Abbyy Finereader Sprint Ocr Epson Download. Why do I care if I already have Vuescan? Looks like FineReader does a better job at OCR than Vuescan. I suspect, but have not confirmed, that I may have to connect the Epson 837 to my Mac with a USB cable to scan/OCR directly. Would like to avoid that multi-step process and scan/OCR directly from the application. FineReady can then open up that saved file and do an OCR. I can scan a document via VueScan or Preview and save as a PDF. The scanner is connected wirelessly, not by USB cable. However, it does not recognize my scanner. ABBYY sent me an FTP link to download their software version that will work with Mountain Lion (the application on the CD does not work with 10.8), and the application opens and will run OCR with an already scanned file. I am trying to get my new Epson Artisan 837 to work with ABBYY's FineReader Sprint 8.0 OCR software that comes free with the printer.
